Ecstatic Liverpool fan Shayne McCabe is having a Red Christmas - after striker Mo Salah gifted him his match jersey.
Ecstatic Dublin six-year-old gifted jersey by Liverpool striker Mo Salah following Champions League clash with Napoli
The six-year-old is still pinching himself after the Egyptian sharp shooter handed him his shirt following the Reds’ Champions League clash with Napoli last Tuesday.
Dubliner Shayne travelled to Anfield for the game, which his favourite team won 1-0 thanks to a wonder goal by the on-form star.
Delighted dad, Niall, from Tallaght, said it was the most incredible thing that could have happened.
He told Dublin Live: “We followed Egypt in the World Cup - Shayne loves Mo Salah.
“He made a sign asking him for his jersey. Mo saw it during the match and gave Shayne a thumbs up, so I thought he’d come over afterwards.
“Shayne couldn’t believe it, he burst into tears when he got the jersey.
“I started crying too, it was incredible.”
The taxi driver also told of their luck in getting to sit closer to the pitch.
He said: “We were sitting in row 15 in the KOP but there was room in the front row so the steward let us sit down there, we were right beside the pitch.
“It was amazing, best night of our lives.
“Mo Salah is such a humble man and yet he is such a hero.”
And the youngster recorded a cute video to say thank you, which was posted to his mum’s Twitter page.
Shayne said: “Hello Mo Salah, this is the kid you gave the jersey to.
“You’ve done a great job and tell Alisson that he made the best save ever.
“Just to let you know, this is the best present of my life.
“If you keep on scoring them goals and we get back into the Champions League final you should try and get the winning goal.
“Bye, hope you win the trophy.”
His mum, Elaine, said: “He is absolutely delighted, thank you Mo Salah.
“Christmas came early and we will be forever grateful for this great experience.”
