Green building architects design buildings with the goal of sustainability and minimal energy consumption in mind. These are architects use the latest technology to produce “green” buildings and work on existing buildings to bring them up to green standards. They will use tactics to make the building as environmentally friendly as possible, using recycled building materials, LED light fixtures, and solar panels.

Wind Turbine Service Technician

Material Scientists

You know all those odd names of products in our food, shampoos, and basically everything we touch? Material scientists work with companies to fill their chemical needs with their understanding of the chemical properties of materials.

Construction Managers

While this isn’t intuitively thought of as a green job, it is definitely becoming so. A construction manager will take the lead in building roads, buildings, and other structures. The manager will build the plan and oversee all project management as well as coordinate with the customer. As customers seek to save money and stay green, construction managers can be increasingly more valuable with green building skills.

Materials Engineers

Materials engineers basically diagnose and implement in depth materials analysis for their company. They will assess the quality and efficiency of materials, and make recommendations for future materials. They are also active in conducting research in building new materials in order to grow their company. Materials engineers will have an important role in a green world, sourcing sustainable products and low impact materials.

Electrical Engineers

The number one job in clean energy is for an Electrical Engineer. These engineers work with all devices that employ electricity, and are increasingly turning to clean energy. Their jobs are to increase efficiency in electricity and energy, and are constantly researching ways to improve products and devices. They will indeed lead the way for green energy, and at a hefty pricetag!
