Gardai investigating 'suspicious death' of man in apartment

Gardaí are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Waterford city.

The man was discovered at an apartment on Wellington Street in the city at approximately 9.20am this morning.

Gardaí attended the scene and the State Pathologist has been notified.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene is currently preserved pending a Garda Technical Examination.

Superintendent Chris Delaney said gardaí will await the results of tomorrow's post-mortem examination before they decide which direction the inquiry will take.
