Commuters left in a flap as ducks hold up rush hour traffic

Dublin commuters went quackers earlier today after a family of ducks held up rush hour traffic in the city centre.

Plenty of feathers were ruffled near St Stephen's Green this morning, when the ducks attempted to make their way home by crossing a busy street outside the park.

Thankfully there was plenty of help on hand to ensure the plucky ducks didn't need a wing and a prayer to make it back to the nest, with a number of bystanders helping them on their way.

The whole thing was captured by a member of the RTE Symphony Orchestra, who happened to be watching events as they happened.

The orchestra's official account tweeted: "Not who you usually expect to meet on route into work with @RTE_NSO but what a lovely surprise!"

We're assured that the family was safely delivered across the road, and are now having the quack at home in the park.
