National Homeless Demonstration to be held in city centre

It has been organised by Inner City Helping Homeless

Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) is set to hold a National Homeless Demonstration in the city centre this weekend.

It will take place this Saturday, June 17 and will go from the Department of Housing on Custom House Quay to Dail Eireann.

The homeless charity is now asking the public to walk in solidarity with Ireland's homeless at the demonstration.

Speakers upon arrival to the Dail will include CEO of Inner City Helping Homeless Anthony Flynn, Ashling Hederman of the Irish Housing Network, Michael Bissett of the Dublin Tenants Association, homeless campaigner Erica Fleming and Cheryl Barnewell who is currently homeless.

Anyone who is in emergency accommodation, sleeping rough or currently within the homeless system is being asked to come out on the day and support the demonstration.

ICHH are asking that people support the demonstration on social media by using the hashtag #HomelessDemonstration.
