Man knifed in Dublin city centre attack

A man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight in Dublin city centre this afternoon.

It is understood the man sustained a hand wound following an altercation with another man during rush hour around Bachelor's Walk, near the Ha'penny Bridge.

The incident took place at around 5.30pm, with gardai including the armed support unit arriving on the scene shortly after.

The victim was taken to the Mater Hospital with injuries that are not understood to be life threatening.

Another man has been arrested and is currently in garda custody.
