Commuter chaos as Luas at a standstill following technical fault

There's commuter chaos in the capital this morning as the Luas Red Line is at a standstill.

The Red Line is also operating from Tallaght and Saggart to Blackhorse due to a technical fault with an overhead power cable in the city centre.

Luas has apologised for the inconvenience, technicians are currently fixing the fault and all Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus routes.

Luas posted online: "All Red Line services are operating from Tallaght and Saggart to Blackhorse Stop only.

"No service between Blackhorse and Connolly/The Point.

"Luas Tickets are valid on Dublin Bus

"This is due to a technical fault with an overhead power cable in the city centre.

"Luas Maintenance are on site. We apologise for the inconvenience."

On the roads, Gardai are currently attending an incident at the entrance of Tallaght Hospital and traffic delays are expected.
