Teenager killed in Tipperary road crash

A 16-year-old boy has died and two other people have been injured in a road crash in Co Tipperary.

The teenager was a back seat passenger in a car, which hit a tree at Boston on the Ballingarry North to Cloughjordan road at around 3.45pm yesterday.

He was pronounced dead and his body was removed to University Hospital Limerick.

A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were both injured and are being treated at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, and at University Hospital Limerick.

The man is described as being in a serious condition.

Gardaí have appealed to any witnesses to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067-50450, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
