Two men killed in separate road crashes

Two men have died in separate road crashes in counties Leitrim and Mayo.

A motorcyclist in his 30s was killed in a collision with a car at around 11.20am at Cloonchair, Mohill in Co Leitrim.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Sligo University Hospital.

The driver of the car was not injured and gardaí have appealed forwitnesses to contact them.

In Co Mayo, ayoung man was killed when his car went out of control at Carracastle, near Charlestown, at around 4pm andhit a tree.

The driver, who was in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removedto Mayo University Hospital wherea post-mortem examination was due to take place.
