Dublin Fire Brigade attend M50 blaze after truck bursts into flames

Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the M50 to attend a rush hour blaze this evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene after a truck burst into flames on the M50 northbound between the M11 junction and J16 Cherrywood.

The blaze was reported shortly before 6pm and contributed to major rush hour traffic delays due to the smoke causing poor visibility for motorists.

The fire was eventually extinguished by A Watch from Dun Laoghaire Fire Station and the truck was later recovered and removed from the area.

Dublin Fire Brigade posted on Twitter : "A Watch Dun Laoghaire station have dealt with a vehicle fire Northbound M50 J17 - J16 Cherrywood, traffic delays.
