Garda in Dublin have arrested two men following a seized drugs with a potential street value of €800,000.
The arrests happened yesterday, when two cars were stopped and searched on the M50 and Gardai discovered cannabis herb with a potential street value of €80,000 - along with €5,000 in cash.
A number of follow-up searches were later carried out at an apartment complex on the Navan Road, in which crystallised ecstasy and cannabis with a potential street value of €720,000 was also seized.
The two men, aged 47 and 58, are currently being detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, and may be detained for up to a week.
The arrests were made as part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime groups based in West Dublin and Co Meath .
The operation was carried out by the members of the Special Crime Task Force, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and a number of units based in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
