More than 160,000 people are expected to line the streets of Ireland this weekend (September 8-10) as thelargest organised road trip in Europe rolls into town.

Now in its ninthyear,Cannonball Ireland is a unique three-day road trip around the country, with over 190 gleaming supercars, wacky fun cars and monster wheels set to take part - writes buzz.ie.
The starting line for this year's edition of the famed raceis locatedat the Point Village, Dublin, with the checkered flag set to be raised on Friday, September 8 at9am.
The high-octanevehicles - worth an estimated€32m - will then embark on a1,000km journey acrossIrish open roads before ending up at the finish line at Kilkenny Castle at 6.30pm on Sunday, September 10.
Some of the top-mark cars that will be on view this weekend includeMcLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley.
And it's not just for fun, either. Each year,an Irishcharity benefits from theevent, raising almost €900,000 so far, with these year'sproceeds set to go to Make-A-Wish Ireland.
As well as having some impressive motors on display, there will be plenty of fun activities for families to take part in free of charge.
While the older heads marvel at the motors, the little ones can have fun in The Hone Energy Transformer Truck, a gigantic mobile rig coming from The Netherlands. The rig transforms into a three-story children’s play zone including crawling tubes, rope ladders, a network of tunnels, transparent floors, slides, a stage and a ball pit.
As is the case every year, expect to see many of the Canonballers dressed up in crazy costumes for the day, with Grid Girls and Brazillian dancers set to add to the carnival atmosphere - and we'll be bringing you all the highlights from the event throughout the weekend.
