A commuter was left shocked after discovering a seat on a Dublin Bus service was "embedded with nails".
Student Darragh Reck made the discovery on the 25x service from Lucan to UCD this morning.
Darragh posted a photo of the seat online and tweeted Dublin Bus about the incident.
The organisation made a full apology, confirming that they got in contact with the Inspector on duty.
Speaking about the ordeal, Darragh told Independent.ie : "I got on the 25x in Lucan and the bus was fairly packed but there was an empty seat near the back on the upper deck.
"I went to sit down and I felt discomfort, I looked and there was a bunch of nails stuck into the seat.
"I was shocked so I sat on the seat behind and put my bag there so nobody would sit on them.
"Somebody then asked to sit there and I told them about the nails and they removed the nails themselves."
A spokeswoman for Dublin Bus confirmed that an incident took place and that the bus in question has been taken out of service
The incident is currently being investigated.
