If you're currently in that limbo of 'will I, won't I' when it comes to thinking about evenstartingto plan buying a house, you might want to consider some new areas in Dublin.
This Dublin Suburb Is The Most Popular Area To Buy A House In 2017
While properties in the city centre and southside have always been considered to be the most desirable, sales in one particular suburb - D15 - have shot up in the past year - writes lovindublin.com.
Dublin 15 (that's Blanchardstown), had 751 house sales in the first six months of 2017 alone, making it the highest house sales area in the capital, according to research by Myhome.ie.
Other areas which proved popular were Dublin 18 (387 house sales) and Dublin 8 (366).
Angela Keegan, Managing Director ofMyHome.ie commented that while new housing developments on the outskirts of the city are great for new buyers, the added traffic to the M50 is concerning.
"While first time buyers are increasingly desperate to buy their own homes, commuting times are increasing at an alarming rate as the city spreads beyond the M50 and this will be a huge issue for Dubliners in the years ahead.
"But clearly it should be a major concern for our planners right now."
