One arrested as gardai seize huge amount of cash, cars and fake gun while investigating ‘Ghost Broker’

Numerous searches were carried out at a house in Lucan this morning.

A man has been arrested after gardai seized a large amount of cash, five cars and a fake gun as part of an investigation into an insurance ‘Ghost Broker’ - writes dublinlive.ie.

Numerous searches were carried out in the capital yesterday morning by Gardaí from the DMR Traffic, assisted by members from the Criminal Assets Bureau and the Cyber Crime Unit.

A garda spokesman said: "During the searches a large amount of cash was seized along with a number of high value watches, five motor vehicles, an imitation firearm and a small quantity of drugs.

"Six bank accounts with an amount in excess of €200,000 have also been frozen.

"A male in his mid-30s was arrested after a search of a house in Lucan and he is currently detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ronanstown Garda Station.

"Further searches are currently being undertaken."
