A Garda has been reportedly shot at an incident in north Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
The incident occurred in the Barnwell area of Ballymun at around 6.30am this morning when armed officers from the Emergency Response Unit supported unarmed uniform officers at a drugs raid - kildarenow.com.
According to independent.ie, on member of the ERU was shot in the arm while outside the property trying to gain entry, while a man inside the house was shot in the shoulder when Gardaí eventually gained access.
The injuries to both men are not believed to be life threatening and they were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
"The incident occurred during a planned search of a house in Barnwell Drive," a garda spokesman said.
"Two people have been injured, a Garda and male civilian, both were treated at the scene by trained Gardaí and DFB. They have taken too hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening."
