Man twice taken from home and forced to withdraw cash from ATM and bank in aggravated burglary

Gardaí have arrested two people in Dublin following an aggravated burglary in Terenure on Wednesday.

Two masked raiders gained entry to a house by smashing a downstairs window and threatening the male occupant at approximately 2am on Wednesday - writes independent.ie.

The male occupant received a minor injury to the face.

Gardaí report that during the course of the night the injured party was taken to an ATM and forced to withdraw a sum of money.

Later in the morning he was taken from his home to a bank and forced to withdraw a substantial sum of money.

A 27-year-old male and 24-year-old female were arrested in connection with the investigation in Dublin city centre yesterday evening following the search of a house.

They are being questioned under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A substantial sum of cash has also been recovered.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
