Campaign launched to find 2018 Dublin Rose

The 2017 competition was won by Offaly Rose Jennifer Byrne.

Finally folks, it's time - the campaign to find the 2018 Dublin Rose kicks off officially tomorrow night!

The 'Search for Dublin Rose 2018' launches at Taylor's Three Rock in Rathfarnham at 7.15pm - writes dublinlive.ie.

The event is being held to let any lovely young Dublin ladies who might wish to enter next year's Rose of Tralee Festival know that they should do so without delay.

It's also a chance for organisers to highlight the key new dates and new lead sponsor for the festival's annual selection nights this year.

Current Dublin Rose, Malahide schoolteacher Maria Coughlan, will be there tomorrow night to give tips to hopefuls and tell of her experience in Tralee at last year's event.

RTE presenter Marty Morrissey is expected to host the event, if he gets to to take a break from practicing for for Dancing With The Stars.

Dublin Rose of Tralee co-ordinator Steve Cronly said: “We are looking forward to launching our new partnership with Taylor’s Three Rock in Rathfarnham as main event sponsor for 2018 and we look forward to welcoming back our friend Marty Morrissey as host.

"We encourage any Dublin-based ladies who are interested in becoming a Rose and who meet the eligibility criteria to apply online as soon as possible.

"The Rose of Tralee provides a fantastic positive experience for all those who enter and every year we welcome girls of all different backgrounds, ages, education and personality. It has something for everyone and is a unique, not to be missed experience.”

The 2018 Rose of Tralee will be held from Friday, August 17, until Tuesday, August 21.

The 2017 competition was won by Offaly Rose Jennifer Byrne.
