An investigation is continuinginto the deaths of two men in Louisburgh, Co Mayo on Christmas Day.
The bodies of the pair were recovered after an SUV in which they were travelling went into a river - writes rte.ie.
They have been named locally as 26-year-old Declan Davitt, and 27-year-old Martin Needham.
Post-mortem examinations are to be carried out today at Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar.
It is expected that investigators will be looking to establish if weather conditions were a contributory factor to the incident.
The incident happened at around 2.30am, when there were gale force winds and water levels were high.
Initial reports suggest that the vehicle became submerged in water as it crossed the Carrownisky River and was then swept downstream.
One man, a 19-year-old, managed to escape from the vehicle and raise the alarm.
Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring expressed his condolences to the Davitt and Needham families.
"The community in Louisburgh shares the grief of the families and will support them in the difficult times ahead," Mr Ring said.
