Search for walker missing on Carrauntoohil resumes

A search for a walker who got into difficulty on Carrauntoohil yesterday resumed this morning.

The search, which was suspended at about 1am, began after the walker contacted gardaí by mobile phone yesterday evening to say he was lost - writes rte.ie.

Kerry Mountain Rescue spokesperson Alan Wallace told RTÉ’s Morning Ireland that his exact location was unclear, but Valentia Coast Guard Station managed to triangulate the emergency call and gave search coordinates in the Black Valley side of the MacGillycuddy Reeks.

Mr Wallace said the search would involve the Valentia Coast Guard helicopter and a number of search teams.

He said conditions were reasonably good.

Separately, three climbers who got into difficultyon Carrauntoohil yesterday weresuccessfully escorted off the mountain, following two separate rescue operations.
