The garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB) seized cannabis herb worth €1.6m yesterday in an operation targeting international drug smugglers.

The haul was discovered when officers raided a property in Tullow Road, Carlow - writes herald.ie
They also seized €21,000 in cash.
Detectives had been targeting the activities of a Polish- based drugs trafficking gang based in the South-East.
Two men, aged 38 and 39, were being questioned last night at Kilkenny Garda Station about the seizure.
Assistant Commissioner John O'Driscoll, the head of Special Crime Operations, said the seizure was "significant".
He said the arrests were the result of An Garda Siochana liaising with police throughout Europe.
"The seizure of cannabis herb at premises in Carlow arises from ongoing liaison with law enforcement authorities in Europol and Poland with whom we are jointly targeting an organised crime group," he added.
In an unrelated operation, gardai and Revenue officers yesterday seized drugs worth €35,000 in Co Roscommon.
The drugs were discovered in a box that had come from South America. Around 500g of cocaine was found in boxes of sweets and biscuits.
A foreign national in his 40s was arrested and detained at Castlerea Garda Station.
