This video shows the shocking moment paramedics were forced to respond after an ambulance was attacked in Blackrock.
An attacker managed to pull a metal bollard from the ground near Frascati Shopping Centre, where they then proceeded to attack the ambulance.
And the paramedics feared what could have happened had the attacker targeted their colleagues.
The footage, which is set to air on TV3 's Paramedics, shows the damage caused to the vehicle including a busted mirror and a smashed wing and grill.
Speaking during the show, one of the paramedics said: "We were very concerned about our colleagues. We were very concerned about what we would find.
"Whoever had attacked the ICV had managed to reef a metal bollard our of the ground and had caused significant damage.
"It really was unsettling that if this person could have done that much damage to a vehicle, what could he have potentially done had he stopped the crew, and then attacked them?"
The assailant managed to escape through parkland in the Blackrock area.
