Dog of the week: Poppy the Collie is a sensitive soul with brains to burn

Dublin Live has teamed up with Dogs Trust in Finglas to bring you "Dog of the week".

We love animals at Dublin Live, so we've teamed up with our friends over at the Dogs Trust in Finglas in the hope of finding a forever home for their adorable pooches - writes

This week's featured pup is Poppie, a four-year-old Collie cross who is absolutely paw-some.

Poppie is a sweet and gentle girl with a twisted front paw from an old injury, but she doesn’t let that stop her and is quite playful and loves her walks.

Kerri from Dogs Trust told Dublin Live: "Poppy has stolen the hearts of everyone she meets. She can be a little bit shy initially when meeting new people but once you give her some time and space she is super affectionate.

"This sensitive soul gets worried around other dogs, so she will need some help to make her feel more confident around her canine friends.

"Poppy has brains to burn, making her a star student who will be a dream to train.

"Poppy ‘is all ears’ when listening to how great she is, and she can even make them ‘wave’!"

If you have room in your heart for Poppy or any other dog who is looking for their forever home, then please contact Dogs Trust on 01 879 1000.
