Eighteen people have been arrested during a garda operation targeting criminal activity in Co Carlow.
The arrests were made during a "day of action" yesterday, which saw gardaí carry out 36 checkpoints targeting the movement of local criminal groups.
Of those arrested, 16 were detained for a range of offences, including theft, assault, fraud, burglary and criminal damage.
Ten people have been charged and are due to appear before District Court sittings in Carlow and Kilkenny in the coming weeks.
Five vehicles were also seized by gardaí.
