Gardai are investigating after a petrol bomb was thrown into the house of a pensioner in South Dublin.

The shocking incident took place in the Rutland area of Crumlin on Monday night.
A gas cannister was thrown through the window of the house but is not believed to have ignited.
An elderly woman, thought to be in her 70s, was asleep inside the house at the time but did not suffer any injuries.
No major damage was done to the inside of the house although there was minor damage to the front.
Gardai confirmed investigations into the incident are underway but no arrests have been made at this time.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage to a house in Rutland Grove, Crumlin.
"The incident occurred on the 8th October 2018 at approximately 9pm. Damage was caused to the front of the house and a container, believed to contain an accelerant was found at the scene.
"No injuries were reported by the female occupant in the house at the time. Investigations are ongoing."
